Itinerary One – “The Spectacular South”
Cape Town, The Garden Route and Safari
| Day 1 | Depart London Heathrow aboard your non stop overnight flight to Cape Town. (either British Airways or South African Airways) |
| Day 2 | On arrival in Cape Town, pick up your rental car and drive yourselves to your accommodation. Once you have checked in you will have 3 days to relax and enjoy your stay in this beautiful city. Perhaps take a stroll around the Waterfront or visit the Aquarium this afternoon. Standard: Morningside Cottage, Makuti Lodge, or Silvermist Mountain Lodge Superior: Camps Bay Resort or Radisson Waterfront Deluxe: The Cape Grace Hotel |
| Days 3 & 4 | You might like to spend these 2 days either driving yourselves around the Cape Peninsular, visiting Cape Point with its lighthouse, the penguins on the beach at Boulders and a trip up Table Mountain (weather permitting). Or taking a trip into the Winelands and enjoy the fantastic scenery as well as tasting a few of the superb wines! |
| Day 5 | This morning you will start your journey eastwards towards the Garden Route. Your first stop will be in Oudtshoorn, famous for its Ostrich Farms and the Cango Caves. Spend 2 nights here on a bed and breakfast basis. Standard: De Zeekoe Guest Farm Superior: De Opstal Country Lodge |
| Day 6 | Spend the day at an Ostrich Farm where you may even have the chance to ride one of these birds! Or take a trip to the Cango Caves with its amazing stalactites and stalactmites. |
| Day 7 | Continue your journey eastwards to Knysna which is located beside a beautiful lagoon and makes an ideal base for exploring the Garden Route. Spend 4 nights here on a bed and breakfast basis. | Days 8 - 10 | Spend these 3 days enjoying a wide range of activities including the Knysna Elephant Park, Monkeyland at Plettenberg Bay, Canoeing at Wilderness or swinging through the trees on Zip Wires at Tsitsikamma National Park. |
| Days 11 & 12 | Continue your journey along the Garden Route past Port Elizabeth and on to a game reserve for the last couple of days of your holiday which will be spent relaxing and enjoying a safari! | Day 13 | This afternoon it will be time to drive back to Port Elizabeth where you should drop off your hire car in time for your flight to Johannesburg, where you will connect with your onward overnight flight back to London. |
| Day 14 | Arrive London Heathrow early morning. |
